The Lee Kuan Yew Award for All-Round Excellence (LKY-ARE)
The LKY-ARE Award is a national level award for achievement in education that was presented since 2005. It recognises well-rounded students who have excelled in both academic and non-academic spheres, and who exemplify the qualities articulated in our desired outcomes of education.
Georgia Long Si Qi, a 2023 graduate of Hougang Primary School, exemplifies academic excellence, leadership, and compassion. Her academic prowess shone through her participation in the Raffles Science Olympiad and Singapore Primary Science Olympiad, earning Merit and Bronze medals respectively. Beyond academics, Georgia's character truly sets her apart. She holds a deep-seated belief that the ability to contribute positively is not just an option, but a responsibility. This conviction manifested in her willingness to assist fellow classmates, share notes, and stand up for those facing social challenges. Georgia's journey at Hougang Primary, marked by active learning, dedicated service as a Library Leader, and a genuine desire to positively influence others' lives, sets a sterling example for her peers.
